A calm residential environment 

One of several courtyards experienced in this project, the courtyard one initially enters into serves as a semi private space for the residents and visitors to filter through before they make their way into the villas themselves. Visitor parking is scattered between the central spine of mature trees and blends in with the landscape.

 

Modernizing the Damascene house 

Entry into each villa is through a sliding gate that opens onto an open air courtyard – a main feature of traditional Damascene houses. Although this is an outdoor space, you are already in the villa and are offered access into the entrance and living space, or can walking past the fountain and into the private lush garden.
The ground floor includes a large reception area, partly double height; that also expands through sliding glass patio doors to the gardens beyond, and becomes an ideal setting for relaxation or large gatherings.
The kitchen can totally open up to the large dining area to become one continuous space, or closed off in a more conventional setup.
The staircase facing the double height void of the entrance court leads you directly to the family room on the first floor that overlooks the double height of the reception space below.
Three en-suite bedrooms are arranged on one side of the family room, while a dramatic bridge overlooking the entrance court on one side and the garden on the other connects to the secluded master suite. All rooms on this floor enjoy the relaxing views of the lush gardens.

 

Spatial configuration

The top floor, easily accessible for the residents and their visitors through the stair and lift, is dedicated to relaxation and enjoyment. The indoor loft can be a sitting area, a play room, a gym, or an office; and expands onto an open roof terrace that includes a pool and a Jacuzzi where one can swim, sunbath, and relax in the full privacy of their home with only blue sky above.
